Hun Manet Continues to Meet with Senior Officials of Japan Self-Defense Forces

JAPAN: On Tuesday, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, continued his official visit to Japan and met with senior officials of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces.

Lt. Gen. Hun Manet wrote on his Facebook page that on Tuesday, 15 February 2022, he met with General Yamazaki Koji, the Commander-in-Chief of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, and General Yoshida Yoshihide, the Commander of the Japanese Army Self-Defense Forces.

On Monday, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet met with the Japanese Foreign Minister, Hayashi Yoshimasa, during which the Japanese side pledged to work closely with Cambodia on affairs related to Myanmar and other regional issues.

Lt. Gen. Hun Manet's visit to Japan is at the invitation of the Government of Japan through the Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, Mikami Masahiro, who informed Prime Minister Hun Sen of the invitation on 28 December 2021.
